About the Event
Help ensure working-class families receive the refunds and credits they're entitled to, and reduce barriers to accessing tax services. Become a volunteer tax preparer in La Plata County!
No prior tax preparation experience is required. All volunteers will receive training and access to the necessary materials through Colorado VITA.
Our goal is for volunteers to complete their training and certification exams by February 15 so that we are fully prepared to launch services on February 16 (Yes, it's a holiday, BUT we want to take advantage of a day where a lot of our members might be off of work).
That said, please know that volunteers can still sign up, train, and certify after February 15. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering later in the season, they are absolutely welcome to join and get certified on a rolling basis.
