Our Team

Get to know our small, but mighty GFC family

Rachel's belief in the power of food systems to act as a near 'cure all' for many of our social and environmental challenges started in 2001 on a homestead in upstate New York. On the shores of Lake Masseweepie, food was a source of purpose, community, joy, identity, and stewardship.

 

Now off the homestead, she has sought out opportunities that weave together community-building, sustainability, and food systems. The Good Food Collective is a near-perfect union of all three. Rachel hopes to find ways for the GFC to address root causes of inequity and poverty, as well as, mitigate climate change and build local resilience.

Olivia Trim - Farms to Food Banks Local Food Purchasing Coordinator

Olivia has taken on two positions with the GFC, making her duties multi-faceted and always exciting! Olivia's career started in outdoor education but quickly moved to logistics with a specific focus in organizing and executing trip details. She has long advocated for healthy, fresh food for everyone and is excited to apply that mindset to this Southwest Colorado community!

Falon Mcginty - Communications, engagement, & food security coordinator 

Falon joined the GFC as an Americorps VISTA member in July of 2020. Having studied Food Systems, Environmental Science, and Public Affairs, she has always held a passion for building and maintaining sustainable food systems. Falon believes that access to fresh, healthy food is a human right since it provides dignity as well as sustenance. She aims to develop the GFC's volunteer base, develop existing programs, and help build out new initiatives!

Enrique A. Orozco-Perez- Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Weaver 

Enrique joined the La Plata County Core Team in order to bring a new perspective in regard to what is needed when it comes to health and food equity in La Plata County. His role within the group is to advocate for the immigrant/undocumented community; as a Latinx/BIPOC individual, advocacy for this community has been his passion! Through this role, Enrique seeks to learn while also pushing the limits of what food equity means in La Plata County.

Expanded capacity through americorps

AmeriCorps has played a critical role in expanding our reach throughout the past 2 years. The GFC is supported by both AmeriCorps VISTA members who focus on capacity-building, and an AmeriCorps NCCC team for valuable harvest support.
