Pomology (science of growing fruit) of the day: Did you know that apples are almost 25% air? That’s why apple bobbing works! High in fiber, boron, and antioxidants, apples are said to help with digestion and memory. The majority of these nutrients are concentrated in the fruit’s skin. They ripen 6-7x faster at room temperature than if they are refrigerated. It takes the energy of about 50 leaves to produce one apple!
