About the Event

Yippee! Thank you for signing up and addressing food secuirty in our neighborhood. We'll send out the exact address the morning of. We'll be out picking all day, come join for when you can :) please bring closed toed shoes, water, sunscreen, and a rain layer (just in case).

The Good Food Collective will bring harvest equipment, but encourage you to bring bags or boxes for any of the apples that you want to take home with you. Today, we recommend wearing closed toed shoes and rain layers. Please bring water, but do not bring your pets.

Pomology (science of growing fruit) of the day: Did you know that apples are almost 25% air? That’s why apple bobbing works! High in fiber, boron, and antioxidants, apples are said to help with digestion and memory. The majority of these nutrients are concentrated in the fruit’s skin. They ripen 6-7x faster at room temperature than if they are refrigerated. It takes the energy of about 50 leaves to produce one apple!

Big thanks and see you soon!
