building an inclusive food business network
The Food Business Workgroup supports economic opportunity and financial security by building and sustaining a food business network that is welcoming and inclusive of rural and minority-owned businesses.
What's a Food Business Network?
We consider the food business network to include every stakeholder who's involved in the success of food businesses. Regulating bodies, food and equipment suppliers, manufacturers, the organizations who serve entrepreneurs, customers, etc.
Our group functions in a hub and spoke model, connecting entrepreneurs to all the various members of the food business network.

the food business workgroup builds community through...
-
Holding monthly meetings that bring food business network stakeholders together
-
Publishing a newsletter, keeping subscribers up to date on opportunities for education, funding, vending, kitchen access, and more
-
Partnering with local organizations to create comprehensive support systems. This way, we know each other, and can refer business owners to the people who can help them
-
Increasing language accessibility in the network through training, bilingual resources, and interpreter connections
